Schools in Finland

Finland’s educational system is based on what we call “holistic education”. Instead of focusing on learning only one subject, students and teachers discuss and choose a topic that interests them and then the topic is looked at from different perspectives. Thus, through this thematic and comprehensive approach, children appreciate how to take a broad view of a topic, while developing their skills and learning how to use all the scientific ways in order to proceed to the solution of a problem.
